University lecturer head-butts female student over exam malpractice

A Niger Delta University lecturer has been filmed head-butting a female student who attacked him following a confrontation for allegedly cheating during an exam.
A viral clip shows the male lecturer tussling with the student, who appears to lash out at the lecturer.
In return, the lecturer headbutts the students and punches her head repeatedly, as some students in the hall scream.
Trouble reportedly started when the man accused the student of cheating and seized her phone.
The female student allegedly refused to leave the hall without collecting her phone. The teacher equally refused to release the phone..
Someone can be heard in the background advising the lady to leave the examination hall first. He noted that the lady was caught cheating and was demanding her phone instead of quietly leaving the exam hall.
A third-year History and Diplomacy student, who identified herself as Favour, has apologised for sharing the video.
She admitted that the video had caused embarrassment to her department and the institution.
The student claimed she did not record the video but acknowledged that sharing it on her class group contributed to its viral spread.
She apologised to the school, department and lecturers, stressing that it was not her intention to bring shame to the university.
Favour promised to be more responsible in future.
There has not been an official reaction to the violent confrontation yet.
