Sex scandal-rocked Guinea official, Baltasar, bags 8 years in jail

An Equatorial Guinea government official who was involved in an explosive sex scandal last year, Baltasar Ebang Engonga, is to spend the next eight years in jail.
Engonga was the boss of the country’s national financial investigation agency before he was implicated in financial fraud last year.
He was accused, among other things, of diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel expenses for personal use.
During his probe, five other top officials were implicated in the case.
The probe gained global attention after detectives found hundreds of intimate tapes of Baltasar with many high-profile women.
Most of the women were married, and some were wives of other top government officials.
He not only slept with the women, but he also ensured he recorded their steaming sessions where he and his partners sometimes directly looked at the camera.
The authorities pressed ahead with his prosecution at the Bioko provincial tribunal for fraud.
The tribunal has now sentenced him to eight years in jail. He was also fined 220,000 American dollars.
