
Legendary Nollywood actor Fabian Adibe has died at the age of 81.
Adibe was a well-loved television figure. He came to prominence with his role in the classic television series, Things Fall Apart.
According to reports, the celebrated actor passed away peacefully in his home in the early hours of Wednesday, 20, 2025.
The news was broken online by journalist Seun Oloketuyi.
The deceased celebrated his 81st birthday in December 2024. He was renowned for playing the role of a calm honest uncle or husband in Nollywood movies.

The legendary actor led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965. In 1987, he began acting with his appearance in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart adaptation on Television.
Adibe played the role of Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the series, where Pete Edochie was the protagonist.
Adibe proved his mettle in the production and earned the admiration of viewers for his lucid interpretation of the role.
In 2022, he lamented that he had been neglected by the many people he worked for since he became old. He said theatre practitioners of today are more fortunate than those of his era.
He said he was paid N10,000 for his roles in his time, and some producers would still complain that it was too much.
