A Nigerian woman, Edna Joseph, has announced the end of her marriage to a Briton just under a year.
Joseph, in a series of posts on her TikTok page, said she believed she had found her soul mate when she came across her white husband sometime ago.
They courted for some time before her then Prince Charming came to Nigeria to marry her.
She subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom to live with her husband.
According to Joseph, the honeymoon was over in just two months as her husband started hitting her.
She said the man subjugated her and called her “animal,” “bitch,” “fat,” and “Nigerian scammer.”
Joseph said her husband punched her in the face repeatedly and strangled her during one of their altercations, nearly killing her.
The shocked newlywed said the abuse continued even when she lost her father. She said the man had no sympathy for her whatsoever and constantly belittled her.
Joseph said her hubby would compare her to his children and claim that they were smarter than her.
When she could not put up with it any more, she packed up and left the house. Joseph said the man filed for divorce just two weeks after she packed out of his house.
In a live session, Joseph gave the date she parked out as October 2024 and that she had since healed from the experience.
She also said she would still give love another chance, and she would not be concerned about race, but the character of the man.
