The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has reached out to the owner of Fresh FM, Yinka Ayefele, and the management of the station over the destruction of its headquarters in Ibadan on Friday.

The governor, in a statement dispatched by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, expressed sadness over the incident.

Makinde deplored the unfortunate incident, even as he expressed gratitude to God for the preservation of the life of the workers in the building at the time.

The governor called on Ayefele to take heart and remain strong as he had always been.

He expressed optimism that Fresh FM would bounce back better and stronger.

In a related development, the Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has equally sent a message of comfort to Ayefele.

Sanusi, who also owns a radio station, Ilaji FM, sympathised with the staff and fans of the two stations affected by the fire incident.

He said even though the damage was extensive, it was worthy of appreciation that no life was lost in the incident.

It would be recalled that fire gutted Fresh FM 105.9 and its sister station, Blast FM 98.3, on Friday night.

Ayefele, in a statement published on his Facebook page, said the inferno ravaged proximal offices, consuming the newsroom, transmitter, server room, and many expensive pieces of equipment.

The renowned gospel singer said it was difficult to quantify the extent of the damage caused by the fire.

He also said the cause could not be determined yet.

The gospel singer thanked public-spirited Nigerians who rallied around his staff to put out the fire.
