A teenage girl has narrated how assailants she described as Fulani bandits killed her brother after he refused their order to sleep with her.
Microsecondnews had on Friday reported the incident as recounted by an activist, Harrison Gwamnishu.
The lady, in a video, has now narrated how it happened. According to her, she and her brother were on the farm when the armed Fulani bandits rounded them up.
She recalled that they were marched into the bush, where they ordered her to strip. According to her, the bandits then ordered her brother to sleep with her while they watched.
The teenage girl said her brother told them he would rather die than engage in intimacy with his own sister.
The traumatised girl said the hoodlums then used their machetes to hack her brother to death in her presence.
She said they then told her to run from their presence.
The Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, has now reacted to the incident.
He said the incident had been brought to the attention of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu.
Ikenga said the commissioner described the incident as ‘heartless and barbaric’, while promising that the culprits would be apprehended.
Orutugu reportedly condoled with the family of the bereaved and the people of Amansea.
He said he had ordered his men to identify the survivor with a view to tracing the perpetrators.
The police boss also called on the public to supply useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
He said his command was resolute in fighting against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.
Orutugu said his team would continue to prioritise the protection of citizens in line with the constitutional responsibility of safeguarding lives and property in the state.
