
A Nigerian lady, Sylvia Obilor, has slumped and died when preparations for her relocation to the United Kingdom were almost concluded.
Obilor, daughter of a Seventh Day Adventist deacon, Christian Obilor, had just secured admission into the University of Salford in Manchester, England.
She was full of life and attended their church service on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The graduate of Abia State University, Uturu, reportedly slumped, having suffered a seizure.
Sylvia was hospitalised immediately but never recovered and passed away on August 12.
The graduate of Survey and Geoinformatics only completed her compulsory national youth service in March 2025.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Aba, Abia State, has sent its commiserations to the family of their deacon, Mr. Obilor, on the sad incident.
The church expressed shock at the tragedy and prayed to God to grant the family the grace to bear the loss.
They also prayed that the memories of Sylvia would remain a cherished treasure in the hearts of the family and her loved ones.
Sylvia’s friends have also flooded social media with condolence messages and tributes,
Ibo General said he had not been able to accept the reality that Sylvia was gone.
He described the deceased as always calm, decent and respectful.
Ibo General also described Sylvia as a brilliant graduate whose transcript transfer process was in motion before the sad event.
He also disclosed that on the day she slumped, she made a post on Facebook and called her mother, promising to visit her.
