“I failed my parents”, says lady who returned empty-handed from abroad after three years

A lady has said that she feels like she failed her parents after she quietly returned to Nigeria from abroad with nothing to show for it.

The lady, simply identified as Olami, said she travelled abroad three years ago and tried her best to fit in.

However, she finally decided to return home and start life afresh. She expressed regret for ‘wasting’ three years of her life abroad.

Olami said she had no achievements, no kids, no husband or even boyfriend. She lamented that all her schoolmates had left her behind.

The returnee said she felt like giving up on life all together, but she would not because she was fighter.

Sharing her life journey on her TikTok handle, @life_of_olami9, the abroad returnee showed a new apartment she just rented.

Olami also shared a series of videos on the page to show her progress as she commenced a fresh journey in her home country.

One of the videos showed her revealing the house keys. Another showed her washing the apartment in readiness for moving in. The next video showed her putting up curtains and sleeping on a blanket laid on the floor.

Many Nigerians in similar situations have been flooding her page to offer her words of encouragement.

One also claimed she had concluded to return to Nigeria, but was just biding her time.
