A Nigerian woman has described the Ibom Air cabin crew member involved in the viral altercation with a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, as very rude.
She made her comments based on her own experience with the same air hostess, identified as Juliana Edwards, on an Ibom Air flight from Nigeria to Accra, Ghana, last November.
Narrating what happened on that flight, the lady said the same woman, who had an altercation with Comfort on Sunday, was the purser of the Ghana-bound flight.
She recalled that the Edwards ignored her greeting when she boarded the flight. The lady said the hostess just looked her up and down and continued what she was doing instead of replying to her greetings.
The Nigerian lady said that as the flight was preparing to take off, Edwards told a male passenger seated behind her to switch off his phone.
She said the man agreed to do it, but the lady barked, “Do it now!” which the man took offence with, saying he would not be ordered around.
The lady claimed the purser went to the cockpit to report the incident. Shortly afterwards, the pilot reportedly announced the aircraft would be turning back to Lagos due to a “threat onboard.”
True to his words, the flight returned to Lagos, and security men were waiting to arrest the male passenger.
The lady further alleged that the Edwards continued to threaten the remaining passengers for the rest of the flight to Accra.
She reportedly told them they had to do what she said or the flight would be turned back, even mid-air.
The lady questioned the relationship between the hostess and the pilot, as they believe whatever she tells them without question.
