Another Nigerian to spend five years in jail for rape
Ordered to be deported after jail term

Another Nigerian, identified as Segun Ogundipe, 33, is to spend the next five years behind bars in the United Kingdom for rape.
Ogundipe, who otherwise has a good reputation with neighbours and colleagues, committed the offence in Gloucester, UK, in 2022. He had forced sexual relations with a lady he met.
Eye_opener220 reported on Instagram that Ogundipe was arraigned and tried before his conviction on Friday.
Ogundipe, who, until his ordeal, lived on Tuffley Lane, Gloucester, was found guilty on the counts of sexual assault and assault by penetration.
It would be recalled that another Nigerian, Elvis Nosakhare, was jailed for six years for allegedly sleeping with both mother and daughter under the same roof.
Ogundipe met the woman who landed him in this trouble in her place of work on July 28, 2022. He chatted with her, and they seemed to get along well, with him inviting her out for a drink.
Gloucestershire Police reported that Ogundipe made increasingly sexual remarks that made the lady uncomfortable during the date.
When they were done with their date, the convict reportedly took the victim to his house under the excuse of collecting something.
The victim reportedly followed him into the apartment to use the bathroom. She was then sexually assaulted and raped once she came out.
The convict then drove the victim to Cheltenham and continued to touch her along the way despite her protestations.
When Ogundipe came across a police team along the way and stopped, the victim seized the opportunity to disembark from the vehicle.
An eagle-eyed officer reportedly noticed that the victim was not comfortable and questioned her. She reportedly did not first open up, but later told them Ogundipe raped her.
Upon arrest, Ogundipe claimed the sex was consensual and she even initiated it. The jury did not believe him.
The convict had multiple strong character references, but Judge Lowe insisted that the seriousness of the offence demanded a five-year jail term.
The judge also ordered that once he was done with his term, Ogundipe should be deported.
