A Nigerian mother has accused the West African Examination Council (WAEC) of being responsible for the mass failure in English at the recently held West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
Taking to social media to rant, the woman alleged that the children failed because the conditions were not conducive.
The irate woman said her child failed in English, principally because the exam was held at close to midnight.
She called on mothers to come out to protest the poor handling of the exam by WAEC and demand accountability.
The woman claimed that the majority of pupils who sat for this year’s WASSCE failed the key subjects, namely English and Mathematics.
She wondered why students would start the exam at noon and be writing papers till about 11 pm.
The woman called on fellow women not to keep quiet.
Her rant has generated massive reactions, with a few supporting her and many criticising her.
Some asked her to go and pay for lessons for her child so the child can do better next time.
