The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) of Ghana has impounded a 2019 Lamborghini belonging to Ghana’s star musician, Shatta Wale.
The action was taken upon a request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Justice Department.
The FBI is reportedly probing the criminal proceeds of an imprisoned fraudster, Nana Kwabena Amuah.
Their investigations led them to Wale, who has the Lamborghini linked to the convict in his garage.
It is not clear how he got it, but it is speculated that he purchased it from the fraudster. This is now being investigated by the authorities.
Officials of EOCO stormed the Trassaco Valley home of Wale in Accra and recovered the 2019 Lamborghini Urus.
EOCO’s acting director, Raymond Archer, disclosed that the seizure happened in June 2025 in pursuant to a request from the FBI.
Wale reportedly requested that the officers not publicise the recovery for the sake of his brand name.
The musician cooperated with the officials and handed over the tainted car without any struggle.
EOCO said the Lamborghini is in its custody pending when it will be repatriated to the US as part of Amuah’s $4.7 million restitution.
It is learnt that Shatta Wale and a former senior officer of Ghana’s National Signal Bureau are needed for more questioning over the issue.
Wale has since taken to his Facebook page to criticise EOCO for sending armed officers to his house for the recovery.
He claimed it was a deliberate attempt to humiliate him.
