Football legend and former England striker, Gary Lineker, has hinted that the reason Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, missed out on contracts with top European clubs might be due to their concerns about his behaviour off-field.

Osimhen has just sealed a deal for €75 million with Turkish giants, Galatasaray, after all rumoured talks with top clubs failed to materialise.

The footballer was linked with a move to Premier League sides such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.

None of the clubs went through with a contract with the prolific scorer, despite his brilliant performance.

Lineker, during a session on The Rest is Football podcast, hinted that Nigerian striker’s problem may be purely down to the issue of discipline and his behaviour off-field.

He noted that he had watched the footballer play several times, and he could not help but submit that he was impressive.

Lineker said the Nigerian striker was also sensational for Napoli.

However, he disclosed that what he hears about him might be unsettling for some clubs.

He claimed he heard from unofficial sources that Osimhen sometimes went missing for a few days.

Lineker said such behaviour would be a concern for top clubs.

He argued that this, rather than a lack of talent, might be what was stopping Osimhen from landing a contract with the Premier League clubs.
