‘We sold her parts to native doctors’, – Girlfriend of man who killed nurse in Anambra confesses
A 24-year-old woman, Somtochukwu Nwafor, has allegedly confessed that they sold the body parts of a missing nurse to native doctors in Anambra State.
Nwafor was arrested following the gruesome murder of a pregnant nurse, who was recently declared missing by her relatives.
Elobisi had called the nurse to request medical treatment at his house. The unsuspecting nurse travelled to the prime suspect’s home and never returned.
Police later found her mutilated remains in a soakaway pit at Ogbunike, Anambra State.
Investigation later led them to Chiemere Obika Elobisi, who absconded before the police got to his house.
His girlfriend was then picked up, and it turned out that she was aware of what had happened to the late nurse.
According to the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Nwafor confessed that she was called by her boyfriend to clean the blood stains in the room after the nurse had been klled.
The lady also allegedly confessed that some body parts of the victim were excised and sold to various native doctors in the state.
Using the information she provided, the police have on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, stormed a shrine belonging to a native doctor identified as Nwafor Chibunna Ofornwatadile from Itima Amawa Village, Ogbunike, Anambra State.
They recovered what they suspected to be human body parts, stored in nylon bags.
Efforts are now ongoing to apprehend the prime suspect.
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, described the killing of the nurse as “inhumane, criminal, and an affront to public morality”.
He called on anyone with useful information to step forward to enable the police to quickly apprehend everyone involved.
