The police in Ondo have picked up a young woman identified as Augustina Mowari for allegedly killing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni.
Police investigations revealed that Mowari stabbed Ikuedowoni in the heat of an argument over infidelity on Sunday in the Okitipupa area of the state.
Ondo Police Command spokesperson, Mr Olayinka Ayanlade, said the victim was stabbed with a pair of scissors by Mowari.
He said the case would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Information gathered indicated that the two lovebirds had been living together in a one-room apartment for some time.
Neighbours said they constantly bickered over the same issue of cheating, but it never degenerated as much as it did last Sunday.
A neighbour said the clash that claimed Ikuedowoni’s life started when Augustina Mowari accused him of dating a girl.
The deceased reportedly responded harshly, leading to a fight during which Mowari stabbed her boyfriend in the leg.
The deceased was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, after which he was discharged.
In the night, his condition reportedly deteriorated, as the leg became swollen.
Ikuedowoni was taken back to the hospital on Sunday night. He died shortly after getting there.
