Owerri man cancels Aug. 2 wedding after accusing reverend father of sleeping with his fiancée
An Owerri, Imo State man, Nwadu Chibuike, has called out a serving reverend father for allegedly sleeping with his fiancée.
He also called off the wedding, which was slated for August 2, 2025, saying he could never carry on with his fiancée after learning what she had done.
Chibuike took to his Facebook wall to announce the cancellation of his proposed wedding.
He wrote that he regretted announcing that he had called off his wedding after all the money he had spent on preparations and logistics.
Nwadu Chibuike attached photos of their physical wedding invites and wrote a bold caption of ‘Cancelled’ on the pictures.
He claimed to have discovered that his bride-to-be was still engaged in sex with the reverend father a week before the wedding.
The man claimed their introduction and traditional wedding were not enough for her fiancée to stop sleeping with the priest.
Chibuike claimed to have an audio tape of the would-be bride confessing to the misdeed.
The aggrieved loverboy also published the chats he purportedly had with the estranged fiancée and the accused young reverend father.
In the chat purportedly between him and his fiancée, the latter appeared to have owned up, but said it was a mistake.
However, the chat he purportedly had with the accused priest, who is their parish priest, showed the cleric denying having sexual relations with the fiancée.
When he accused the man of giving money to his fiancée “every time”, the man corrected him that it was not every time he gave her money.
Chibuike did not believe him and went ahead to publish his picture with a bold caption, “See the Reverend Father that is kn*cking my wife one week to our wedding.”
In a follow-up post, the aggrieved fiancé wrote that the friend of the accused reverend father threatened him.
He called out the priest who allegedly reached out to him. He accused him of blindly supporting his colleague, whom he accused of sleeping with his wife.
Chibuike is yet to post the audio evidence he claimed to have of his fiancée confessing and begging him.
Last-minute wedding cancellations have been on the rise lately.
Microsecondnews reported in April 2025 that a man cancelled his wedding in Jos after his groomsmen were already lodged in a hotel ahead of the event the next day in Jos, Plateau State.
During the couple’s final counselling session at the church, they reportedly disagreed on the church they would attend after their wedding.
