A Lagos-based female banker has been robbed of ₦8.5m by one-chance robbers masquerading as transporters.
The news was broken on X by a user, @stainleesss, who tagged the Lagos Police Command and the force’s spokespersons.
He alleged that the woman was going to work in the morning when she boarded the vehicle of the suspects.
The X user disclosed that the suspects severely beat the lady and transferred the sum of N8.5 in her account to their own accounts.
Stainleesss alleged that the woman was dropped in front of the Lagos Assembly. From there, she went to the Ikeja Police Station, where she was allegedly referred to Alagbon.
He said the lady, being a banker, used her contacts to gather information about the people the money was transferred to.
Stainleesss, however, lamented that four weeks after the lady passed the information over to the police, nothing has come out of it.
He called on the spokespersons of the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos command to help look into the case.
Microsecondnews reported that a commuter was robbed and severely assaulted in Lagos earlier this month.
The young lady, Sharlom said she was attacked on a Saturday morning between Iyana Oworo and Anthony Village, Lagos, after she left her sister’s place.
She said she boarded a private cab operated by a man old enough to be her father, who picked up another elderly man at the next bus stop.
According to her, the two men severely assaulted her and robbed her of her valuables.
