The chairman of APC in Edo State, Jarret Tenebe, has declared that he, like many residents of Edo, hates politician Peter Obi, and as such, he needs to be careful how he enters the state.

He was commenting on the controversial statement by the governor of the state, Monday Okpebholo, that Obi had to seek permission from him to visit the state.

Nigerians had kicked against the statement, with many fans of Obi accusing the governor of threatening the former Anambra State Governor.

Others also pointed out that Obi is a Nigerian who is free to visit any part of the country just like any other Nigerian.

At a press conference in Edo over the weekend, Tenebe supported Okpebholo’s controversial statement.

He justified the statement by explaining that Obi was hated by many people in Edo state, including himself.

Tenebe explained that the governor said what he said because of the kind of hatred people had for Obi in Edo State.

He counted himself among such people nurturing hatred for the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Tenebe said people like Obi, who came to Edo and people died, need to inform Okpebholo when next they are visiting so that the governor could send them (Obi’s haters) on an errand out of Edo until Obi is done and out of Edo.

The APC chairman in Edo described criticism of Okpebholo over his statement as rubbish.

Tenebe cautioned members of ADC in Edo State, asking them to be very careful.

According to him, his people were only prepared to entertain the few PDP remaining and would not have anyone parading themselves as ADC.

He said those who insisted on belonging to ADC should leave Edo.
