A 41-year-old lady, identified as Benita Lurk Ikuenobe, has allegedly killed herself inside one of the halls of Prayer City of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM), along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The bizarre occurrence was broken by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in a tweet on their X platform over the weekend.

Makama said someone saw the lifeless body of Ikuenobe at 7:20 am on Friday, July 18, 2025 and alerted the Chief Security Officer of the church, Esiere Ekikere.

Ekikere rushed to the church auditorium and discovered the woman was unresponsive. He told the police he observed an empty bottle of suspected insecticide, “Sniper,” on the ground beside her.

Security operatives accompanied Ekikere to the scene to take photographs, process necessary documents to retrieve the body and deposit it at Real Divine Hospital morgue, where an autopsy is scheduled to be done on her.

Police are now investigating the circumstances leading to the demise of the lady.

People associated with the late Ikuenobe have been requested to step forward with any information that can assist them in unravelling the case.

Incidents of people taking their own lives have been on the rise in recent times.

Microsecondnews reported in April that a man, Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu, committed suicide along the Olokoro-Umudike Road in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to reports, he parked his car by the roadside, disembarked and used his belt to hang himself from a nearby fence.
