Accomplice confesses to raping female student before killing her

The Ondo State Police Command has cracked the case of the abduction and murder of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Abah John Friday and Okah Andrel Eloho.
The police said Abah’s landlord, Oladele Femi, was the mastermind of the crime and has confessed to his role in the dastardly act.
Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, told newsmen in Akure, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, that his team deployed technology to enable them to crack the case.
It would be recalled that the lifeless body of Okah, 19, was found last week, three weeks after they were declared missing.
The body was found in the forest at a border community between Ekiti and Ondo States.
Police clarified that it was only Okah’s body they found at that location. The second body was reportedly dumped in a river at another location, and it has yet to be recovered.
According to the police commissioner, his team commenced an investigation into the AAUA students’ case after receiving a petition from G.O. Omedu & Co., a law firm.
In the petition, one Emmanuel Peter of Shagari Village in Akure wrote that his younger brother, Abah and his friend, Okah, were abducted and had not been seen for days.
The commissioner said his team’s investigation took them to Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, where an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to one of the students was recovered from a 38-year-old man, identified as Abdul Mohammed Mubarak.
After interrogation, it was established that he bought the phone from one Ojo Michael, who was then traced to Aramoko Ekiti and arrested.
A Lexus car belonging to Abah was found with him. He also reportedly confessed to participating in the abduction, robbery and killing of the victims.
Michael reportedly named Femi as the mastermind of the entire crime. He also told the police that the sum of N800,000 was withdrawn from Abah’s account while he was held in captivity.
He further allegedly confessed to raping Okah in captivity and killing her because she recognised him.
The bodies of the victims were subsequently disposed of at different locations between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti, according to the commissioner.
He said his team were able to recover the female victim’s body and deposited it in a mortuary for autopsy.
Mr. Lawal added that efforts were ongoing to recover Abah’s body from the river where it was thrown.
