‘Even if it’s dishwashing’, Nigerian lady decries joblessness after 2 years in Canada

A Canada-based Nigerian woman has cried out for assistance to get employment after all her efforts to land one since she arrived 20 months ago failed.
The lady, who goes by the username @prezzy_29 on TikTok, posted a video where she narrated her ordeal.
According to her, there was nothing she had not tried in order to get a job, but nothing worked.
She also said she did not mind any type of job, including washing plates, to ‘manage’ till something better comes along.
“What the heck is going on? Please, even if it’s cleaning or washing plates, I need it,” she said.
Her video has generated lots of comments, with some saying it was impossible to be jobless for 20 months in Canada.
Others suggested that her location in Canada could be the source of her problem, with one person also confessing that he was in the same predicament in Ontario.
The oldest-Tiger opined that there was no one eligible to work in Canada who can be looking for a job for almost two years. He said it was simply not possible.
He said it must be that the lady entered Canada with a visitor’s visa.
willy🇨🇲🇨🇦 said he was in the same situation in Hamilton and appealed for assistance too.
Iya Canada asked pointedly if the lady was in Canada with a visitor’s visa. She said if the answer was yes, then she should know that she could not find a job.
FredBorngreat🇬🇭🇨🇦 advised newscomers to always come with a driver’s license. According to him, once they have that, they can relocate to a less populated province like Manitoba and quickly find jobs. He said they would be spoilt for choice.
“I’m sure this lady is in Toronto/Ontario or Montreal,” he said.
Gn was curious how those without jobs in Canada can survive without a family member they can run to for assistance.
Mayor🇳🇬 advised immigrants to get ‘Smart Serve’ and ‘Food Handling’ certificates. According to him, those certificates would guarantee part-time jobs for at least 3 days a week.
lies_is_the_new_Truth🇨🇦 advised the lady to do ‘PSW certification’, which will open new doors for her. He said he was jobless for six months before he landed his first job.
Kaza said he had the same experience. He said he even went to college to study supply chain and logistics, which failed to secure him a job.
