Influencer, Gaius Chibueze, who took to social media to celebrate the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari has taken to the same platform to announce the death of his own father within 24 hours.
Chibueze had blasted the late president after the news of his death was announced.
He accused him of mismanaging Nigeria and causing much pain to Nigerians while alive.
He wrote: “Buhari was a Terrible President. We must not pretend now!
May his Soul get what he did to NIGERIA!”
Some netizens thought his tweet was in bad taste. They accused him of not giving the dead their deserved dignity. Meanwhile, others lauded him for speaking the truth.
However, a few hours later, he took to the same X to announce the passing of his father, Chizueze Ngene, in Enugu State.
He posted a picture of himself as a child beside his late father and wrote a long tribute to his father.

“A Few Minutes Ago, My Father Passed Away in His Home in Enugu State.
I am comforted by the memories like when I was just 5 years old, and he was already teaching me how to read the Bible and preach from house to house as a Jehovah’s Witness,” his tribute read in part.
Trolls descended on his tweet, with some suggesting it served him right for rejoicing at the death of someone else’s father.
@Al_Ameen_Yabo wrote: “Death comes for us all. He mocked Buhari in death, only for his own father to pass hours later. A solemn reminder that none of us is above mortality. Show respect, it might be you next.”
@BellagioAn2118 tweeted, “Another Ipobidiot bites the dust. For this write-up about fPMB that your father should burn in h£ll..
Animals!!!”
When Gaius saw some of the hateful comments against him, he doubled down on his criticism of Buhari.
He insisted his own father would have been alive if past leaders, including Buhari, had managed the country’s resources better and fixed the country’s healthcare.
He tweeted: “Buhari was a useless president.
If they had built good hospitals in Nigeria, he wouldn’t have been flying to London for treatment.
If there were good hospitals in Nigeria, my father might still be alive I was only waiting to fly him to Turkey to replace the batteries in his chest.
God punish any Nigerian politician who refuses to do their job.”
