A massive number of students from The Polytechnic in Ibadan poured onto the streets today to protest Governor Seyi Makinde’s decision to rename the school in honour of the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, one of his predecessors.
It would be recalled that Governor Makinde announced during the funeral of late Olunloyo last Friday that the institution had been renamed after Olunloyo as a way of immortalising him.
This decision did not go down well with the students, who took to the streets to ask the governor to rescind his decision.
