Dangote Refinery cuts petrol price by N40 amid falling global oil rates

Fuel {petrol)

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot price of petrol, lowering it from ₦880 to ₦840 per litre, effective Monday, June 30, 2025.

The announcement was made on Tuesday via the refinery’s official account on X (formerly Twitter).

This move comes just a week after the refinery raised the price to ₦880 per litre.

The fresh N40 price cut is attributed to a drop in global crude oil prices following the easing of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Brent crude prices declined by 16 cents (0.24%), closing at $67.61 per barrel—down from nearly $80—after Israel and Iran reached a ceasefire deal.

The de-escalation came in the wake of earlier U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.
