Ifeme Rebecca Iheoma, a student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), who recently went viral following a surprise encounter with content creator, Asherkine, has publicly denied allegations that she denied her boyfriend to go on a date with the content creator.

In a video released to address the growing rumours, Rebecca firmly refuted claims that she was in a relationship

She said she does not know the man spreading the allegations and has never had a boyfriend.

“First of all, that’s not even my name,” she said, referring to the man identifying her as “Becky Chinaza” in alleged WhatsApp messages. “Second, I don’t know who this person is. And thirdly, the WhatsApp messages he’s posting are not mine. That’s not my profile picture, and I don’t even speak that kind of English.”

Rebecca described the viral messages as fake and manipulated, accusing the man of editing screenshots and altering her TikTok videos to support his false claims.

“I do not have a boyfriend, and I have never, ever had a boyfriend,” she emphasised. “If he says we’re dating, let him bring real proof—not edited screenshots.”

The drama unfolded shortly after her widely shared interaction with Asherkine sparked social media buzz, generating numerous memes and reposts.

But what began as a light-hearted conversation has now turned into controversy, which she is actively trying to dispel.

Rebecca concluded her statement by maintaining her innocence and urging the public to ignore the false narrative.

“I will continue to say what I’ve said—I don’t know this person, and I am innocent of all these accusations,” she said.
