“If I curse them, it will stick forever” — Veteran Actor Lalude blasts APC, MC Oluomo over broken promises after campaign support

Veteran Yoruba actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, has expressed deep disappointment and anger over what he describes as neglect by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and key figures in the party following the 2023 general elections.
In a now-viral interview circulating on social media, Lalude revealed that he and fellow Nollywood icon Alapini spent nearly two months campaigning at the grassroots level for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to him, Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, MC Oluomo, personally enlisted their support and promised them rewards and assistance after the elections.
“He called us together and said we should campaign for the APC. He even told Alapini and me to ask for anything we wanted — and we did. But since then, nothing has come out of it,” Lalude said.
Visibly emotional, the respected actor said he now feels used and abandoned despite sacrificing his time, energy, and reputation for the campaign.
“We did it with our sweat. Now they’re acting like we don’t exist. If I curse them, it will follow them forever,” he declared.
He went further to accuse certain individuals—whom he did not name—of deliberately obstructing their access to the promised benefits, vowing that such actions would not go unpunished.
“Those who made sure we didn’t get anything — their lives will never be at peace,” he added with visible pain.
The video has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many expressing sympathy for Lalude while also criticising the recurring issue of unfulfilled political promises in Nigeria.
