US ICE arrests Nigerian man, 29, convicted of s3xual abuse

A 29-year-old Nigerian national, Oluwaseun Kassim, has been arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after being found guilty of aggravated sexual assault in Kankakee County, Illinois.
Kassim was taken into custody in Chicago as part of a nationwide operation to apprehend illegal immigrants with histories of crime.
The ICE said in a statement released on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, that Kassim was being held and might be taken away.
Kassim’s case is one of the most serious in its most recent sweep, which targeted people believed to be a danger to the public.
President Donald Trump’s administration has detained 65,682 illegal aliens, including those who pose a threat to ‘’national security and public safety, and arrested over 66,463 illegal aliens” in his first 100 days in office.
Records show that there were roughly 51,000 undocumented migrants in ICE detention as of June, the most since September 2019.
