Man slumps, passes away while playing golf in Niger State

An avid golfer, Engr. Mohammed Amate, has slumped and passed away while indulging in his favourite spot, at the Zuma Golf Club, part of the Zuma Rock Resort located near Zuma Rock in Niger State, just outside Abuja on Monday, June 23.

Reports indicated that the deceased, who is the former Pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office, slumped on the 17th hole while playing.

Fellow golfers rushed to his side but were unable to revive him.

He gave up the ghost at the scene.

The body of the late Amate, a native of Kirawa in Borno state, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
