
A suspected kidnapper involved in the abduction of two herders and a driver in Gwagwalada, FCT, has been apprehended at the Izom Cattle Market in Gurara LGA, Niger State.
The victims had been abducted on June 9, 2025, while returning from Izom, where they had gone to sell cattle.
The kidnappers reportedly received a ₦15 million ransom before releasing them.
The suspect was identified by one of the victims around 4 pm on Saturday, June 21, while shopping at the market.
Dressed in a neat kaftan, he was quickly surrounded and arrested by vigilantes before a mob could harm him.
Items including cigarettes, tramadol, cough syrup, and Indian hemp were found in his possession.
Vigilantes later handed him over to security operatives from Lambata. A security source confirmed the suspect confessed to being part of the kidnapping gang.
