
The Rivers State Police Command has arraigned a man, identified as Ihechi Maduba, popularly known as “Ceemore,” for allegedly assaulting several women during a birthday celebration at a nightclub in Port Harcourt.
The incident, which occurred at the popular “Black Box” nightclub, went viral after a video surfaced online showing one of the women with a head injury.
The assault reportedly happened during a party held at the venue last week.
The ladies said Ceemore forcefully joined them at their reserved table at the club and objected to them filming themselves dancing, saying he did not want to be filmed.
This escalated into violence where the multi-millionaire and his escorts reportedly be@t the ladies, with one losing a front tooth, and one being str!pped and be@ten.
Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed on Sunday that all parties involved had been invited for questioning at the State Command before the case was formally taken to court.
According to Iringe-Koko, the Commissioner of Police was alarmed by the incident and immediately directed a full investigation.
Maduba was arrested and taken to the station for interrogation, where he provided a statement regarding the allegations.
“The CP was unhappy about it. He immediately asked the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to expedite action,” she said.
The alleged victims were also interviewed at police headquarters on June 16, 2025, in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The following day, June 17, the matter was formally charged in court.
Iringe-Koko reaffirmed the commitment of the Rivers State Police Command to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure justice is served, especially in matters involving gender-based violence.
One of the victims, Tonia Okoye, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, stated:
“We know what is right. All we need is justice.”
