
A postgraduate student pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has reportedly been abducted while jogging within the campus during her morning exercise routine.
The alarming incident was brought to public attention by an X (formerly Twitter) user, @theoriaku, who identified the victim as a friend.
According to him, she was taken by unknown assailants during her usual morning walk inside the university grounds.
The kidnappers have allegedly contacted her associates and are demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for her safe release.
In his post, @theoriaku wrote:
“A friend of mine and a postgraduate student (Ph.D.) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is currently missing. She was kidnapped this morning during a morning walk/jogging inside the school.”
He further criticized the school’s response, claiming that the university’s security team has shown indifference toward the situation.
“We have involved the school security who are acting unconcerned about the entire case. The kidnappers are asking for a ransom of ₦10 million. Her details are attached in the pictures above. Any information will be appreciated 🙏.”
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the university authorities or any security agency regarding the abduction.
