U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that the United States conducted a major military operation targeting three key Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—in a series of precision airstrikes on Saturday, June 22, 2025.
Speaking from the White House, Trump said the goal of the operation was to dismantle Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and neutralise what he described as “the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.”
“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success,” he declared. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”
Trump added that the U.S. military had executed the mission with unmatched precision and that all aircraft involved had exited Iranian airspace safely.
In a Truth Social post, he emphasised, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!” while warning that further action would follow if Iran did not comply.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the attack, calling it a “bold decision” that would “change history.”
Meanwhile, international reactions have been mixed, with countries like China and Russia condemning the strikes, while the UK expressed support and French President Emmanuel Macron urged Iran to exercise restraint.
