Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has publicly rejected a ₦30 million donation offered by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, during a church crusade in the state.

The donation was announced by the Commissioner for Social Duties, Zayyanu Umar Aliero, at the Kebbi Healing and Deliverance Crusade.

“Our Governor, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris, has graciously approved the donation of the sum of ₦30 million to this gathering,” Aliero told the congregation.

However, Pastor Enenche declined the offer, instead urging the state to direct the funds toward charitable causes. “If there is anything like an orphanage… at your discretion, please apply this amount of money to it. No. It will not be received,” he firmly stated.

Explaining the rationale behind his decision, Enenche emphasised the principle of separating church and government finances.

“We believe that government money should be used for government projects, and church money for church purposes,” he said.

“That is our practice. Even the Glory Dome, as small as it is, was built without a dime of government money—from land acquisition to completion.”

Enenche further advised that if the government intends to support religious causes, it should do so through formal Christian associations to preserve the church’s independence and moral authority.

“This helps us retain our dignity as the body of Christ and speak the truth when necessary,” he added.

In response, Commissioner Aliero expressed understanding and gratitude: “They didn’t accept it because whatever he is doing, he is doing it for the sake of God. We appreciate and thank him for his work in our state.”
