A woman has taken to Twitter to disclose how her younger sister was lured to Obalende on Friday, June 20, 2025 and abducted in a carefully plotted scheme.

According to the woman with the handle, @Teemarsbeauty, her sister, who lost her phone in transit a couple of days earlier, was told by her friend that someone called her to announce that he had found the phone at Obalende and she should go and retrieve the phone from the “Good Samaritan”.

The young lady reportedly decided to go and retrieve the phone from the “Good Samaritan”, believing that Obalende was a public place.

However, the moment she got to the bus, she was allegedly pushed inside and driven off.

The suspects reportedly collected the young lady’s phone and then started calling all the people on her contact telling them she had been kidnapped and would only be released if they sent money into her account.

According to her, the criminals continued to drive around Lagos until they received a total of N2 million, before the lady was dropped at Iyana Oworo at 3 am.

“They stole her phone and called one of her friends, saying they found it on the floor,” she wrote. “They agreed to meet in Obalende, that’s how they got her.”

“Last night was hell,” the sister tweeted. “They took her from Obalende and called everyone on her phone and demanded money until the money completed, they dropped her in Iyana Oworo around 3 am. Y’all stay safe.”

She added that the police were present at the drop-off location and assisted her sister in getting home safely.

The incident has sparked widespread concern online, with many users expressing worry over the rising cases of abductions in Lagos. A user, @Erotic_shoppe, commented, “This abduction thing is now on the rise in Lagos. I pray for her to get home safely.”

@Teemarsbeauty responded that her sister got home safely but was still shaken.

At the time of this report, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
