Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has firmly denied a viral claim made by controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who alleged that he told her his ex-wife, Precious Chikwendu, once plotted to kidnap her.
In a statement posted Saturday night, Fani-Kayode clarified that his ex-wife had sent him the video, in which Olunloyo made the claims. He described the allegation as “patently false”, adding:
“I never said anything of the sort and my sister Kemi is in error.”
While not attributing the claim to malice, Fani-Kayode said Olunloyo may have misremembered events, describing their 43-year friendship as reason to believe it was a “genuine error.”
He also praised the peaceful co-parenting relationship he now shares with Chikwendu and urged the public to leave them out of any media controversy.
Meanwhile, Precious Chikwendu responded strongly via Instagram, slamming Olunloyo for spreading lies allegedly for payment, and mocking her relevance.
“Wetin I wan kidnap you for? You were irrelevant then and are still irrelevant now,” Chikwendu wrote.

She further blasted Olunloyo: “Shut up demented fool! I paid you less attention then because you needed to survive based on the Pennies you were paid at the time; He flew you into Abuja then for the stories you peddled and you got some Pennies as well as gate crashed my children’s birthday as the “akpiri malt that you are “you were a small irrelevant fry to distract me from fighting for my kids which was the ultimate battle”
