A heated inheritance battle has emerged in the family of the late former Oyo State Governor, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, as his first daughter, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Alao-Aderinto, has approached the Oyo State High Court seeking a DNA test to verify the paternity of seven individuals claiming to be the ex-governor’s biological children.

In a motion marked I/443/2024, filed before Justice Taiwo of Court 12, Alao-Aderinto, through her counsel Oladipo Olasope (SAN), also requested the exhumation of her father’s body from his mausoleum in Ogbomoso to facilitate the DNA testing.

The individuals listed in the suit for paternity confirmation include:

Olamide, Adebukola, Olamipo, Olamiju (currently a member of the House of Representatives), Tabitha, Olamikunle.

Alao-Aderinto argues that the DNA test should be conducted at an accredited laboratory to conclusively determine their claims and settle any future disputes over the late governor’s estate.

The matter is pending before the court for determination.
