The family residence of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, came under attack once again on the night of Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

The incident occurred in Ihima, located in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, just two months after a previous assault on the same property.

According to reports, the armed assailants began by vandalising the windows of the home before being confronted and repelled by a joint response team comprising police officers, local vigilantes, and community youths.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, June 18, the spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, said that one suspect, identified as Joe Suberu, was arrested at the scene.

“Yes, it’s true, and one suspect, Joe Suberu, was arrested at the scene. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing others,” he stated.

A statement from the Media Office of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan provided further details, revealing that the attackers caused significant damage before being overpowered.

The office also alleged that Suberu, said to be a known ritualist from the community, confessed to participating in attacks on the senator’s residence on at least three separate occasions.

The statement added that a cutlass and fetish items were found on the suspect. A mob reportedly tried to lynch him before he was rescued by security personnel and handed over to the police.

As of press time, other assailants believed to have been armed with dangerous weapons were still at large.
