“This is not a Fulani Republic” – Bishop Oyedepo declares in fiery sermon

 

Prominent Nigerian clergyman and founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has stirred online reactions after stating during a sermon that the Fulani ethnic group does not own Nigeria.

Speaking passionately to his congregation, Bishop Oyedepo emphasised that Nigeria is not a Fulani republic but a federal entity belonging to all its citizens.

“Fulanis do not own Nigeria. I don’t have a Fulani root; I am a born and bred Nigerian. I don’t have a visa to be here. This is not the Fulani Republic of Nigeria; it is the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

The statement has since gone viral, sparking a wave of mixed reactions on social media. While some applauded his boldness, others criticised his tone and questioned the broader implications of his remarks.
