Ifunanya Mokwuah, the Nigerian-American lady who has been trending on social media over the horrific maltreatment of her father by his siblings, has disclosed that his uncle made a last-ditch effort to get guardianship of her father to send him back to Nigeria.
Recall that Ifunanya recently made the headlines when she revealed how the siblings of her father locked him up in his own house to waste away while enjoying his pensions, after he retired in the US and decided to spend his remaining years in his village.
With video evidence, she showed the trouble she went through to rescue her father and finally fly him back to the United States of America for proper medical treatment.
In a new instalment in her ongoing testimony shared on her TikTok page, Ifunanya disclosed that she was in their American home when some white men arrived to serve her court papers initiated by her uncle in America, Gabriel Mokwuah, seeking to get custody of Peter Mokwuah with a view to sending him back to Nigeria.
Ifunanya shared the documents she was served, adding that she was first afraid that her uncle might succeed at taking her father away from her until the Holy Spirit assured her that nothing would come out of the case.
She said she received the documents and briefed the court-appointed lawyer that she intended to contest it and would be bringing evidence to show that Gabriel maltreated her father when he held the ‘Power of Attorney’ over him.
Ifunanya said that when Gabriel saw her response, he changed tactics, and sent another letter saying that he was willing to discontinue the case if he was given 10 minutes to speak with Peter.
She said she declined this request again and reiterated that she wanted the matter to go to trial.
At this point, Gabriel reportedly instructed his lawyer to write that he was no longer interested in pursuing the guardianship proceedings.
