A woman who lost her five children and mother in the recent deadly attack on Yelwata community, Benue State, has spoken out about her unimaginable pain in a video that has gone viral.

The brutal attack occurred on Friday night and lasted into the early hours of Saturday, leaving over 200 people dead and several others injured.

Among the victims was the woman’s entire immediate family—her five children and her elderly mother.

Visibly devastated, the woman was captured in the emotional video recounting the events and expressing her deep anguish. Her grief has sparked an outpouring of sympathy and outrage across social media platforms.

The heartbreaking footage was shared by UK-based Nigerian medical doctor, @OurFavOnlineDoc, who captioned it:

“This lady lost all her 5 children, and she also lost her mother at the recent Yelwata Massacre in Benue State.

The pain is deep and piercing.

How do you console someone like this?

How do you tell her to ‘reconcile’ with those who wiped out her family?”

Reactions from Nigerians online reflect widespread sorrow and anger:

@Comeback_snarky: “This kind of loss you can’t even cry anymore. God!!”

@onlyonedira: “I doubt she’ll ever recover from this.”

@thatMrT: “Assume Nigeria is a country, Tinubu would have been removed over these incessant killings. Still, we don’t know our rights.”

@Amina_Eke22: “No, no, no, this is unbelievable! Even those in actual wars are not experiencing this! I don’t even know what to say… how do you console her?”

@achanya_friday: “This is a horrible and terrifying incident. How can she live with the gory picture of losing all 5 children and mother on a single day?”

The attack on Yelwata is among the deadliest in recent times, adding to the rising toll of violence and insecurity in the region.
