Nigerians cry foul after man linked to abduction of his brother bags ‘Best Employee of the Month’ award in US (Video)

Bottom: Ifunanya
A US-based Nigerian, Gabriel Mokwuah, has bagged the ‘Employee of the Month’ award in his place of work, but he is being bombarded by negative comments from Nigerians who accused him of having a hand in the unlawful incarceration of his brother, Peter Mokwuah, in his home in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that Ifunanya Mokwuah, the daughter of Peter Mokwuah, recently released a gripping testimony where she showed with visual evidence how the siblings of her father held him hostage in his house in Nigeria for months until she travelled to Nigeria to rescue him.
In Ifunanya’s testimony, she mentioned Gabriel Mokwuah as the person with the power of attorney over her father.
She noted that Gabriel attempted to frustrate every effort she made to rescue her father from the parlous condition in which they kept him, hoping he would die in Nigeria.
She accused Gabriel of even writing to the US embassy in Nigeria, telling them that she had no right to take her father out of Nigeria without his consent, as he held the power of attorney over his brother.
Ifunanya moved against her uncle by initiating the process of revoking the power of attorney he held over her father and instituting another one conferring that power on her.
With the aid of the US embassy, she was able to get a fresh power of attorney, duly notarised and endorsed by the government of the US.
That was how she was able to fly her father back to the United States of America, where he had worked for over 25 years and is a citizen.
After she had successfully rescued her father and put him in a nursing home in the US, the same Gabriel sneaked into the nursing home and got his brother to sign another set of documents, believed to be connected to his bid to hijack his brother away from the control of his daughter and family.
In a new development, Gabriel is in the news for having shown exemplary conduct in his place of work, for which they conferred the award of Employee of the Month for April on him.
The video of the event has found its way to the internet and is not well-received among angry Nigerians.
In the video, a member of management of the company Gabriel works for, reads out the nomination sent in for Gabriel by his colleague, identified as Joel Rivers, in which he is said to have saved the life of a patient under his care.
He was said to be covering a monitor on Tuesday, March 28, when he noticed that a patient looked unwell and alerted the appropriate unit to check the patient. The patient was found to be without pulse, and the team sprang into action and was able to resuscitate the patient.
In his own remarks, Gabriel thanked the management for the award, but said the credit belonged to his team.
Nigerians have now flooded the comments section of the award post, saying negative things about Gabriel.
Some called on the management of the hospital/care home to review their CCTV to be sure it was not Gabriel who tampered with the equipment to give him the opportunity to play a hero.
Read some comments:
Mimi_j: “Gabriel Moukwa is a self-serving evil genius who CANNOT BE TRUSTED to occupy ANY position of trust. He alongside some accomplices held his sick brother captive for months without care. He also tried to illegally obtain Power of Attorney after the brother had been rescued and tried to kidnap him a second time. DO NOT TRUST any of his actions.”
NIDA_dua: “Maybe Gabriel was the one that turned the machine off to get recognised 🤨🤨 i dont trust this man !!! The hospital should check cameras and investigate that incident”
iam_bossjazzy: “Don’t get it twisted; just because someone is good at his job doesn’t mean he’s not a dangerous brother/uncle.”
gbabe122: “😏😏😏😏😏. Really! isn’t this Ifunanya’s uncle? The one that maltreated Ifunanya’s father with his other siblings?”
Green=Alkebulan😇🫂 “he’s the one that temper with the patient so he can “save” them.”
life is too short enjoy: “Gabriel is behind all the evil plans. The fact that he signed forgery power of attorney while his brother was in Nigeria. He is heartless to his brother.”
