A Nigerian matchmaker, Bolaji Bakare Beulah, has sparked outrage on social media after revealing that a woman she connected to a generous man abruptly cut ties with him, despite receiving over ₦500,000 in cash and multiple rent payments.
Sharing her frustration on TikTok, Beulah accused the lady, identified as Shola Mukadans, of taking advantage of the man’s kindness and ghosting him once she had benefited financially.
According to Beulah, the man had consistently sent Shola weekly allowances ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000, paid her house rent on several occasions, and even gave her ₦500,000 on June 4 to restock her shop.
Beulah said the man and the lady had been dating since last year, and when they quarrelled and the lady needed money to restock her shop, she got in touch with her to talk to him, and she did.
Beulah said that after the man agreed to help her restock her shop, he sent the sum of N500k to her on June 4.
However, when the man tried to see her in her house afterwards, the lady did not open the door for him, and he had to go and book a hotel room to stay overnight.
Afterwards, she reportedly blocked the man on all social media.
“She blocked him after collecting ₦500k,” Beulah lamented. “Shola, you said you took sleeping pills when he came to visit and made him wait alone at a hotel. You think you’re smart, but you’re too small to run street on me.”
Beulah initially did not post the picture of the lady in question until the lady went to the comment section of Beulah’s post to comment.
Reacting to the many comments which were not in her favour, she wrote: “Before you comment, ask God to forgive you.”
She also reportedly added in the comment section that the man in question was a ritualist, which was why she ghosted him.
These comments infuriated Beulah, who queried why Shola was collecting money from him if she knew he was a ritualist.
Beulah further claimed that she (Shola) had known the man’s house and some of his family members, asking at what point he became a ritualist.
The angry matchmaker posted the picture of Shola and warned men to beware of her. She also threatened her with a lawsuit to substantiate her claim that the man she introduced to her was a ritualist.
The post quickly went viral, with social media users weighing in on the drama. While some criticised Shola for being ungrateful and exploitative, others blamed the man and the matchmaker for not being cautious.
