Ifunanya Mokwuah, the lady who flew into Nigeria to rescue her father from his siblings, who held him hostage in his own house in Anambra for up to a year, has disclosed that her auntie slammed her with a lawsuit to prevent her from flying her father out of Nigeria.
In continuation of her gripping testimony, Ifunanya said Josephine Mokwuah, who is now late, slammed her with a lawsuit after she successfully rescued her father from her (Josephine’s) and her uncle, Francis’ grip.
You would recall that in the earlier part of her testimony, she disclosed how her father, Peter Mokwuah, a United States citizen, decided to return to Nigeria to enjoy his retirement but was held hostage by his own siblings.
She concluded the first part of the series with the account of how she successfully evacuated her father to a private hospital.
Resuming her testimony, Ifunanya described how she got a specialist to help her father regain the use of his legs, which had become thin and weak during his incarceration by his siblings.
She said she subsequently flew her father to Lagos, where she took him to Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi.
It was while she was with her father at the hospital that she was told the police had established a case of kidnapping, embezzlement and other sundry offences against Josephine and Francis.
She said she also learn that the late Josephine filed a suit in the Anambra High Court against her, alleging that she was a gold digger and the one responsible for Peter’s illness.
She further prayed the court for a power of attorney to act on behalf of Peter, her brother.
Ifunanya said she also hired a lawyer who was able to take a series of legal actions to checkmate Josephine.
She also disclosed that she was able to find out that Peter’s siblings were using his $5000 monthly pensions to erect a building within the family compound.
She further recounted how she was able to get an emergency travel document for her father from the US embassy, disclosing that the embassy dispatched officials to issue the documents to him on his hospital bed in Ikoyi.
Ifunanya further disclosed how she booked two first-class tickets for her father and herself and narrated how they almost missed their flight on the day of their travel.
According to her, they stayed at her boyfriend’s house, which was near the airport and took off to the airport about 8 pm to catch their 11 pm flight.
Unfortunately, when they were 10 minutes from the airport, the car had a flat tyre and she had to order a bolt.
Upon arrival of the Bolt, they discovered the car could not carry all their luggage, plus the two of them.
At that point, he said the Holy Spirit urged her to get a bus, and she saw a yellow bus that was going empty
She said she flagged the bus down and convinced the driver to help them carry the luggage while her father and her cousin rode in the Bolt to the airport.
According to her, they got to the airport barely a few minutes before the closing of the check-in counter.
“We were the last people to board the plane. The moment we boarded, the door was shut”, she recalled.
