A family of five from Banswara, Rajasthan, tragically lost their lives in the devastating Air India plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad on Thursday, just moments after takeoff.
The victims have been identified as Pratik Joshi, a software engineer, his wife Dr. Komi Vyas, their twin sons Pradyut and Nakul, and their eldest daughter Miraya.
The family had been relocating to London to begin a new chapter together.
They were aboard flight AI171 when it crashed into a medical college complex in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad shortly after departure and erupted into flames.
For Pratik Joshi, this journey was meant to mark a long-awaited reunion, as he had spent the past nine years working in the United Kingdom, preparing to bring his family over for a better life.
Dr. Komi Vyas had reportedly resigned from her job just two days before the flight, ready to start afresh with her husband and children.
Before boarding the ill-fated aircraft, the family took a selfie and shared it with relatives—an image that now serves as a heartbreaking reminder of what was to be a joyful new beginning.
Their sudden deaths have left the entire town of Banswara in shock.
Friends, relatives, and former colleagues are grappling with the loss, describing the family as kind-hearted and deeply loved.
“The whole town is in mourning,” a close family friend told News18.
