Nollywood star Adeniyi Johnson has publicly called on filmmaker Bola Akande to address the tragic death of up-and-coming actor Ola Lawal, who reportedly died during a movie shoot under her supervision.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Johnson expressed grief over the loss and criticised Akande’s continued silence.
Though he clarified that he does not hold her directly responsible for the incident, he emphasised the need for openness and empathy.
“We’re shocked and saddened by OLA’s passing. Your silence is deafening. We’re not blaming you for his death, but we urge you to acknowledge the situation, share your side of the story, and consider supporting the family,” Johnson stated.
The actor also revealed that Ola’s father was deeply hurt by how the aftermath was handled, particularly being asked for his surviving son’s account number shortly after the tragedy.
“The father feels disrespected, citing a lack of human feeling by requesting the brother’s account number shortly after OLA’s passing, as if he were for sale,” Johnson added.
Ola Lawal’s sudden death has sparked widespread sorrow and outrage across Nollywood, with fans and colleagues calling for accountability and answers from those involved in the production.
