Popular Nigerian preacher, Pastor Jerry Eze, has opened up about the depth of his commitment to ministry, emphatically stating that he is not a “professional pastor” and would rather God take his life than let his calling become self-centred.

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the Abuja-based clergyman said his focus has always been on enriching the spiritual lives of others, not personal gain or status.

“I am not a professional pastor; the day I become one, let God kill me,” Pastor Eze declared. “Let me walk away from this entirely. The day it stops being about God and becomes about Jerry, let the Lord shut everything down.”

He revealed that he never anticipated reaching his current level of influence and continues to ensure that his ministry remains Christ-centred.
