A Nigerian woman has shared a troubling account on TikTok, alleging that an inDrive driver assaulted and threatened her after she gave directions to her home during a ride.
In her video, the woman explained that she had booked a ride via the inDrive app and noticed the driver was heading in the wrong direction.
She claimed she politely corrected him, and although he eventually complied, tensions rose when they reached a point where the driver claimed there was no turning, contrary to her knowledge of the area.
“He insisted there was no turn, but I told him he didn’t know the road,” she recounted. “He got angry, asked me to get out of the car, and became aggressive.”
According to her, the driver pulled over on the expressway and ordered her to exit the vehicle, even though she had not yet arrived at her destination. As she stepped out and tried to collect her belongings, the situation allegedly took a dangerous turn.
“This man reversed while the door was still open, hit me with it, and threatened to kill me,” she said in the video. “I had to run away. He kept shouting that he would slap me.”
She identified the driver as “Deji” and expressed frustration in her video caption:
“This inDrive driver, Deji, reversed and almost ran over me while the door was open and my things were still in the car! Just because I told him he was passing the wrong route to my house. @inDrive, do better! Stop employing sad and frustrated people!”
The post quickly gained traction online, with many users condemning the incident and calling on inDrive to take swift disciplinary action.
