Shortly after news broke of her low-key May 2025 wedding to former Nollywood actor Lincoln “Linc” Edochie—son of veteran actor Pete Edochie—Yinka has taken to Instagram to address a wave of negative messages from some Nigerians.
Since confirming their union online, Yinka says she has been the target of hurtful comments and trolling.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared this morning, Yinka thanked those who offered congratulations but addressed those sending harsh words.
She reminded critics that every couple deserves happiness and urged them to respect her decision. “I understand that not everyone will be pleased,” she wrote. “But I will not let negativity steal my joy. My husband and I have chosen to build our life together, and I hope you can allow us that peace.”
Yinka went on to ask that people refrain from sending unsolicited advice or hurtful messages, emphasizing that marriage is a private journey and that she and Linc simply wish to focus on their happiness. She closed her message by expressing gratitude to fans and friends who continue to support their relationship and praying that all Nigerians find reasons to celebrate one another’s success.
Her post has since drawn messages of solidarity from well-wishers, with many praising her poise and courage in confronting online criticism.
