A Nigerian pilgrim from Plateau State has died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, during the ongoing 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
The female pilgrim reportedly passed away on June 1, 2025, at the King Abdul’aziz Hospital due to complications related to diabetes, as confirmed by attending medical personnel.
In a solemn tribute, officials cited a verse from the Qur’an (4:100): “And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him, his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah.”
The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Pilgrims Welfare Board expressed deep sorrow over the loss, extending condolences to the government of Plateau State, as well as to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones.
“May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaws,” he prayed, offering a final farewell to the late pilgrim.
