The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha or Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
The Minister congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
Tunji-Ojo called on Muslims and all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the peace, unity, and prosperity of the country.
He also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to people-oriented reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is aimed at steering the country back on the path of sustainable growth and development.
While wishing all Muslims a joyous and peaceful celebration, the Minister encouraged citizens to support the administration’s efforts to rebuild and uplift the nation.
